"As a long term sufferer of IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and with a history of Migraines, I decided to try Reflexology to see if the symptoms of these could be lessened. After just a few visits, I was aware that the IBS was less painful and bowel movement was more regular, and Migraine headaches were replaced by normal headaches and much more infrequent. After just a couple more treatments, the headaches have disappeared, and the IBS is barely noticeable. A big thank you to reflexology, I shall certainly encourage others to try it."

"Adrienne was recommended to me by a friend who had just completed a successful programme of IVF. Due to start IVF myself I decided to give it a go. Several months later, I am extremely happy to say my treatment was successful.

We are both convinced that Adrienne and her techniques helped us cope with the drugs and procedures if not with the actual end result. Neither of us suffered any side effects and we found the whole IVF experience was relatively stress free. Ladies at the same clinic who were not having reflexology were struggling to cope with their treatment.

I really looked forward to my weekly sessions and Adrienne was extremely supportive throughout. I thoroughly recommend Adrienne to anyone with fertility problems or undergoing any kind of fertility treatment."

Examples

Many people like to use Reflexology when they have health problems, in order to help them get back to good health, and it is believed it can and does help many people achieve that. It can also be used as a preventative therapy, or simply as a wonderful way to relax and destress.

For those who do have problems, here are some examples of conditions that may be helped…
  • Poor circulation and associated problems
  • Stress and stress related conditions
  • Back pain, joint and muscle aches and pains eg shoulders, elbows, hips, knees
  • Asthma, hay fever
  • Bowel problems including Irritable Bowel, constipation, bloating etc
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Menstrual irregularities, PMT and Menopausal hot flushes etc
  • Skin problems
  • Blocked sinuses
  • Poor sleep
  • Depression, anxiety
  • Low energy levels

...... and many other disorders. This is by no means an exhaustive list!

It can often help with over or underactive thyroid conditions (with your GP's permission and alongside any medication); this can be discussed with individual patients.

It can be very helpful in helping people to recover after a stroke, or during and after chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment. As an example, with one of my existing clients, on every occasion she had a reflexology treatment prior to a chemotherapy session, her white blood cell count was sufficiently high to allow the chemo to be given. On the two occasions when she didn't have the reflexology, her white cell count was too low and the chemo had to be postponed. This seems to show that the reflexology treatments boosted the immune system.

It can also be helpful for problems in pregnancy, eg if labour is overdue, it may help trigger the contractions to start (with your midwife's permission), and it helps many mums-to-be with morning sickness, tiredness, backache, insomnia, fluid retention, constipation etc.

It can safely be used alongside prescribed or over-the-counter medications, and often helps to alleviate some of their side effects.
